Zusätzlich stellt das Vorliegen multipler, nicht als Kontamination zu wertender Kolonisierungsnachweise einen Risikofaktor für eine nachfolgende invasive Candidiasis dar und kann daher als Entscheidungshilfe für die Indikationsstellung zur empirischen antimykotischen Therapie genutzt werden.
